Cyber-security guru John McAfee has told us the idea that Donald Trump's lawyer colluded with Russian hackers during the American election is ridiculous, suggesting the US President-elect wouldn't need Russia's help if he wanted to pull off something like that.
McAfee, in his first interview with talkRADIO, also said Mr Trump is "an idiot" if he doesn't deny Russia's involvement in the hacking of the Democratic National Committee - as it has nothing to do with Russia.
On Sunday the President-elect's incoming chief of staff, Reince Priebus, told Fox News that Mr Trump “is not denying that entities in Russia were behind" the hack of Democratic party emails, which were subsequently published on Wikileaks.
However McAfee, founder of the eponymous security giant and a global expert on cyber-crime, said "Trump has enough sense and enough money, if he wanted to do this, to hire decent hackers.
"The Russians did not do the hack. If it were the Russian intelligence, they would have removed the date and time of the compile, they would have removed the type of keyboard that they used or used a different keyboard, they certainly wouldn't have used the Russian language. Please, get real.
"Can you imagine the CIA or the MI5 in England hacking somebody and forgetting to remove the English language? Forgetting to remove the IP address? That person would be scheduled for suicide."
McAfee made the comments during an extensive interview with talkRADIO, during which he also suggested that the real hacker was probably a bored teenager in their bedroom.
