Journalist killed in Mexico in 'targeted' shooting

A journalist has been killed in a targeted shooting in Mexico. 

Candido Rios wrote for the Acayucan in the state of Veracruz. 

The 55-year-old had been covering a story in the village of Covarrubias when he and two others were seriously injured by unknown assailants. 

The journalist died on route to the hospital. 

Ten reporters have died in Mexico since the start of 2017.

The country itself is considered to be the most dangerous country in the world for the press.
