Julia Hartley-Brewer has slammed a "litany of failures" that led to the death of toddler Poppi Worthington.
A coroner yesterday (January 15) ruled that Poppi died of asphyxia and suffered sexual abuse by her father, Paul Worthington, before she passed away.
Our mid-morning host discussed the issue with John Woodcock, Poppi's local MP, who said he will be writing to the Home Secretary and demanding a public inquiry into the 2012 tragedy.
Woodcock said it is unlikely that any charges will be brought against Poppi's father because of the way evidence was lost,
Julia said the case was "horrific," adding that it "chills her to the bone" that anyone could do something like this to a child.
