Kato Harris, a former teacher who was falsely accused of raping a pupil, spoke to Julia Hartley-Brewer about the hell he lived with before being cleared.

The former geography teacher was accused of repeatedly raping a 14-year-old girl in 2013, but jurors found him not guilty during a trial last year after a deliberation that lasted just 15 minutes.

He told Julia Hartley-Brewer that whilst the hell he was living in has now passed, he still gets terrifying flashbacks about being accused of rape.

Harris also spoke about the preparation he did in case he was sent to prison, which he said was like digging your own grave.

He then explained his view that all male teachers are at risk of being falsely accused by pupils, and spoke of his gratitude to people who had donated money towards his legal fees.
