KKK imperial wizard arrested for 'firing pistol at Charlottesville protests'

Richard Preston allegedly fired gun towards counter protestors

The imperial wizard of the Confederate White Knights of the KKK has been arrested for allegedly firing a pistol towards anti-fascist protesters during the Charlottesville protests.

The incident was caught on video by the ACLU of Virginia. In the footage a man, identified as Richard Preston, is seen taking out a pistol and saying "hey n***er."

He then goes towards a crowd before lowering the weapon, firing it at the ground and walking off.

It is thought that no was injured from the gunshot, according to the Southern Poverty Law Center.

Preston has been charged with using a firearm within 1,000 feet of a school. If convicted he will face up to 10 years in jail.

The total number of people arrested in relation to the protests in Virginia is now four, this includes James Alex Fields who allegedly drove a car into a crowd, killing Heather Heyer.

He has been charged with malicious wounding, second-degree murder and failing to stop in an accident that resulted in death.

Fields is set to appear at Charlottesville General District Court in December.

Daniel Patrick Borden and Alex Michael Ramos have also been charged for violent crimes at the protests. Borden has been arrested but Ramos has not yet been found.
