The "knives are out" for Boris Johnson - but Theresa May can't sack him because he's a "big beast".
That's the view of The Sun's political editor Tom Newton Dunn, who spoke to talkRADIO about the ongoing divisions within the Cabinet.
Johnson has been a focus of much of the in-fighting following his hugely controversial article about Brexit last month.
Newton Dunn said he believes many Tories want Johnson out, because they "want people to stick together and stick behind the Prime Minister."
Nevertheless, he added, May needs him "inside the tent urinating out" rather than the other way round.
According to Newton Dunn, the only reason May would sack Johnson is "if it becomes a choice basically of her or him" but eventually she'll have to "get off the fence and choose" to go with Johnson's view of Brexit or that propounded by his emerging rival, Philip Hammond.
