UKIP leadership hopeful Raheem Kassam has hit out at fellow challenger Suzanne Evans and accused her of "ugly, dirty" tactics.

Kassam appeared on the show just minutes after Evans, who told James Whale that he has no support among the party membership.

Invited to respond, Kassam said Evans is childish and vindictive and claimed she is viewed with disdain by Mr Farage and UKIP donor Arron Banks,

When James broached the idea of a possible meeting with Evans, Kassam - who worked as an aide to Mr Farage in the run-up to last year's general election - said she was always welcome to come for a coffee, on him.

The eurosceptic party has been widely ridiculed over recent weeks after former leader Diane James quit after just 18 days in charge, and then a brawl in Brussels between MEPs Mike Hookem and Steven Woolfe left the latter in hospital.

Kassam told James that the party must now put a stop to the squabbling and move forward as a united, cohesive organisation.
