Television presenter Caroline Flack has been charged with assault by beating after "following a private domestic incident" in the early hours of this morning.
The 40-year-old was arrested after reports of a man being attacked during the incident at an Islington address around 5.25am. Police and paramedics attended.
The man, who has not been named by police, was not seriously injured but a spokeswoman from London Ambulance Service confirmed that they had treated two people at the scene and taken one person to hospital.
A Metropolitan Police spokeswoman confirmed that Flack will appear at Highbury Corner Magistrates’ Court on Monday December 23. She has been released on bail until then.
The presenter has recently been pictured with her boyfriend, Lewis Burton, 27, a former professional tennis player and model.
A spokesman for Caroline Flack said in a statement: “We confirm that police attended Caroline's home following a private domestic incident.
“She is co-operating with the appropriate people to resolve matters. We will not be making any further comment for legal reasons.”
Flack is known for presenting programmes such as The X Factor and reality dating show Love Island.
The winter series of Love Island, filmed in South Africa, is due to start in January – ITV have declined to comment on the incident.
