Travellers from Euston Station faced major disruption on Wednesday after an individual was hit by a train.

Network Rail said a total of four lines were blocked and several services cancelled after a person was hit near Harrow and Wealdstone just ahead of rush hour at 4:45pm.

Lines were eventually reopened after emergency services dealt with the incident, however they operated with major delays for the entirety of the evening.

Passengers faced waits of up to an hour for the service, if they were not cancelled or revised entirely.

The services affected were trains travelling between Euston to Shepherd's Bush and Watford Junction.

Euston station is the fifth-busiest station in Britain, with more than 40 million passengers annually.
