A poll has revealed the majority of Americans think Donald Trump is racist.

The survey of 1,337 people also found a majority think the President's policies have had a negative impact on the Muslim and Hispanic communities, according to The Hill.

The Associated Press and NORC Center for Public Affairs Research poll found 57% of those who answered believe Trump is racist and this included more than eight out of every 10 African Americans.

It also included 75% of Hispanics who responded to the poll as well as almost half of the white respondents.

However only 21% of those who say they’re Republicans think the President is racist in comparison with 85% of Democrats who answered.

The amount of people who think Trump's policies are negatively affecting Muslims, Hispanics and African Americans stood at 57%, 56% and 47% respectively.

The US President has often been accused of racism, both in his campaign and in his time in office.

However he has denied this and recently told journalists he's "the least racist person you have ever interviewed."
