Malta plane crash: Frontex says none of its staff was on board

EU border agency Frontex has said none of its staff were involved in the plane crash in Malta this morning.

The plane crashed in a field near the airport in Luqa, killing all five people on board. It had previously been reported that the plane was carrying Frontex officials.

It has been reported that the plane was on route to Libya and was carrying French nationals, although investigations into the cause and circumstances of the accident are ongoing.
