A man has been sentenced to almost seven years in prison after being found guilty of killing a man and then removing his genitals.

The court in central Germany heard that both were heavily intoxicated when the older man, aged 53, attacked the 32-year-old man by grabbing his genitals.

The younger man reacted to the incident by punching his aggressor in the face, resulting in the 53-year-old falling to the floor.

The victim then chocked to death on his vomit and the younger man took a knife and cut off his penis.

The judge said that even if the man were alive, he would have bled to death.

The man will spend one year and five months in jail, with the rest of his sentence spent in a detoxification clinic.
