Numerous celebrities and political leaders have paid tribute to the lives of those affected by the bombing at Manchester Arena.

A suicide bomber with an improvised explosive device struck yesterday as revellers were leaving a gig performed by American singer Ariana Grande.

Twenty-two people and up to 59 were left injured after the blast tore through a foyer connecting the venue to Victoria station.

The blast took place immediately after the gig, when fans were thronging the foyer en route to the exits. Witnessed reported seeing people climbing over each other in an attempt to flee.

The US star tweeted to say she was "broken" in the wake of the incident, and numerous other prominent celebrities and political figures have also paid tribute to the victims.
