Authorities have undertaken new raids in Manchester and Merseyside as the investigation into the Manchester Arena terror attack continues.
One man has been arrested in Moss side in Manchester, while police have searched a location in St Helens on Merseyside.
The UK remains on critical alert as a major operation to dismantle a suspected “terror network” is in place – a web believed to be linked to Salman Abedi, who killed 22 people in his attack upon the arena on Monday.
This news follows a tense day where Greater Manchester Police have hesitantly restored information-sharing ties with the US after a series of high-profile leaks.
Monday’s attack was the worst terrorist attack in the UK since London was targeted and 52 people killed in July 2005.
