Manchester United fans have been putting local rivalry to one side today to flood Twitter with messages of support and sympathy for injured City player Sergio Aguero.
The Argentine striker has scored against the Old Trafford club several times in the past, and inflicted the ultimate ignimony on the red half of Manchester by scoring the goal which snatched the Premier League title from United in 2012.
But after news that Aguero was injured in a car crash in Amsterdam last night, United fans from across the world have been quick to send messages wishing him well.
Thankfully it appears the injuries are not too serious, with Aguero sustaining only broken ribs in the crash.
Nonetheless City manager Pep Guardiola has confirmed the lethal goalscorer will miss the club's crunch match with Chelsea tomorrow, and he could even miss City's match with United at Old Trafford on December 9.
Aguero's injury could boost United's chances of pipping City to this year's Premier League title. But, as United fans have proved today, there are more important things in life than football.
