On-loan Manchester United star Andreas Pereira has been fined and stripped of his driving licence after being found guilty of speeding.
The Brazilian midfielder, currently on loan at Valencia, was found guilty by a fast-track tril in Spain of driving three times over the speed limit,
He was caught by police in Valencia on Monday (October 16), driving at 148km per hour in a zone with a maximum of 50mph. This roughly equates to doing 90mph in a 30mph zone.
The footballer has admitted his mistake on social media and has accepted the sanction.
Pereira wrote on twiter: "Very regretful for driving too fast in my car, and I will accept the punishment I get.
"It's important to be prudent at the wheel and always respect the restrictrions. Lesson learned."
Pereira, who joined United from PSV Eindhoven as a junior, has long been regarded as one of the brightest young players at the Old Trafford club.
He spent last season on loan at Spanish club Granada and returned to the country for a second spell this season, despite impressing United manager Jose Mourinho on the club's pre-season tour and being widely tipped to break into the first team.
