A married couple jumped to their death from a building in Manhattan after leaving a note explaining their financial problems, police have said.
The chiropractor and his wife jumped from his office which was on the ninth floor of the building in Midtown, according to Daily News. His office had recently been closed permanently.
The 53-year-old man and 50-year-old woman reportedly jumped this morning (July 28) at around 5:45am local time this morning.
Two suicide notes were then found in separate bags along with the couple's IDs, sources reported.
Police closed the roads around where the pair landed as they investigated the situation, whilst their bodies were left covered with white cloths.
The building is also the location of law, advertising and therapy companies as well as other commercial spaces.
A person who works near to the building at a fitness studio said: "It's awfully scary and sad. We had to cancel classes but so what? This is terrible."
