The French authorities say a man who is suspected of driving a van into a bus stop in Marseille has undergone a "process" to establish his psychological condition.
A woman died on Monday in the port city after a van collided with the bus stop. Just prior to this, the van had hit another bus shelter in a different location within the city, seriously injuring one individual.
The driver was arrested at the scene of the second crash.
At the moment, the man - who is in his 30s - is deemed well enough to allow the French authorities to hold him but he appears to be subject to further enquiries.
The authorities say he was known to police and had a history of psychological problems.
The police investigation has dismissed the idea of the crash being a terrorist incident.
