Martin Daubney: We are seeing ‘Brexit’s darkest hour’

Wednesday, August 14, 2019

Martin Daubney has vowed the Brexit Party will combat any moves to prevent Britain leaving the European Union on October 31.

The Brexit Party MEP told talkRADIO’s Mike Graham he is not surprised “so-called politically neutral speaker” John Bercow has vowed to oppose any attempt to suspend Parliament.

“What we’re seeing here is in Brexit’s darkest hour we are shining a true light on the inner machinations of the governmental machine which is uniting in its sole fury to delay and block Brexit,” he said.

“We have a situation now where people like (Philip) Hammond and especially people like Bercow do not see themselves as our servants but instead as our masters.”

He added: “We must be looking at every tool in the box at this stage. If we are facing a foe who is prepared to do everything possible to defy Brexit then why not look at every option to fight back?”

Mr Bercow has said he will “fight with every breath” to prevent Boris Johnson from suspending Parliament to force through a no-deal Brexit.

Mr Daubney said he expects a “catalogue of political corpses” including John Major, Nick Clegg and Tony Blair will soon try to interfere as the October 31 deadline draws closer.

“People are starting to see we have the might of the machine against Boris and Boris is talking all the right talk, he’s making all the right noises to Brexiteers,” he said.

“We are starting to see the wheels coming off of the bandwagon because his own party, the government’s own speaker and a coalition of unholy alliances with those on the left will all no doubt sweep in to do their very best to take this off the rails.”
