A mother has been sentenced to four years in prison after selling her daughter online for sex in Lower Saxony, Germany.

The woman, referred to as Nicole G, was convicted of pimping and sexually abusing a child between 2012 and 2013, The Local reported.

Her previous boyfriend has also been convicted for sexually abusing both her daughters, who were aged 16 and 11 when the offences took place. The man, who carried out the abuse in the woman's presence, has been sentenced to four years and 10 months in prison.

Prosecutors claimed the mother started advertising her older daughter online when she was 15, using fake ages.

She organised appointments, condoms and underwear for the child but took the money herself.

The woman encouraged her boyfriend at the time, Clemens F, to rape the girl, whilst she was drunk and couldn't fight him. The mother also encouraged him to abuse the younger daughter twice.

On the first day of the trial Nicole G confessed to the charges, however Clemens F did not.

The two girls are now aged 16 and 20 and have lived away from their mother since the older child first went to the police in 2013. The younger sister lives with her father.
