A woman used a fake Facebook profile to encourage others to carry out acts of terrorism, a court has heard.

Westminster Magistrates' Court also heard that the mother of five posted extremist propaganda and website links online, allowing others to share terrorism videos and publications.

She used the name Kay Adam on Facebook, however her real name is Farhana Begum Ahmed, according to Court News UK.

The woman is also accused of using the name Per Muhammed Burmal Karwani to transfer £3,108.75 to a bank account in Turkey.

It is believed that she knew the money could have been used for terrorism.

Ahmed has denied six terrorism charges.

The case is now being transferred to the Central Criminal Court, as the judge deemed the case unsuitable to be dealt with in a magistrates' court.

The woman has been remanded in custody ahead of the hearing, which will take place at the Old Bailey on May 19.
