Murder probe launched after teenager chased down and stabbed to death by East London gang

A murder investigation has been launched after a teenager was chased and stabbed to death by a gang in Chadwell Heath, East London.

Police were called at approximately 10.30pm on Wednesday March 14 to reports of an assault on Padnell Road, RM6.

Officers attended and found an 18-year-old male suffering from a stab injury on nearby Nash Road. He was taken by the London Ambulance Service to an east London hospital where he died at 1.16am.

His next of kin have been informed. Formal identification is yet to take place.

A post-mortem examination will be held in due course, and detectives from the Homicide and Major Crime Command are investigating. A crime scene remains in place.

One man has been arrested in connection with this investigation. However, at this early stage, it is believed the victim may have been chased by a number of suspects before being attacked.

Officers are appealing for information and requesting witnesses to come forward.
