Andrew Marr was caught whispering praise to Penny Mordaunt after an interview and has been widely criticised by many who claim it shows the BBC is biased.
The presenter quietly said “that was very good” and put his thumb up to the international development secretary yesterday (February 11), according to The Independent.
It is thought Marr had assumed the cameras were turned off, after interviewing the Tory MP about allegations of sexual misconduct against Oxfam workers.
One Twitter user has called for Marr to be sacked as another claimed "the BBC have stopped pretending to be unbiased," raising questions about whether he would say the same to Labour MPs.
Others have suggested the incident was "embarrassing" and "highly patronising" because Mordaunt isn't new to interviews and so doesn't need the backing.
