Naked woman forces motorway closure after robbing sheriff's car in Arizona

A naked women caused a rather unusual disruption for motorists in the Arizona town of Gila Bend by robbing a sheriff's car.

The woman robbed the Maricopa County sheriff's vehicle after officers were called to a disturbance at a local petrol station, according to news site Telemundo.

When the sheriff arrived on the scene, the woman, who is thought to have caused the disturbance, jumped in the car and drove off, prompting a chase.

The pursuit continued towards highway 10, near the city of Eloy, and officials were forced to close the motorway for several minutes, according to Arizona's department for transportation.

A spokesman for the Maricopa sheriff's department, Joaquin Enriquez, said the woman had been arrested while the officer suffered various injuries.
