New Jersey bombs: Police investigating 'suspicious package' at Rutgers University

Police have confirmed they are investigating a report of a suspicious package found at New Jersey's Rutgers University.

The university tweeted that the device was found at Douglass Parking Deck, advising readers to avoid the area.

Rutgers is situated in New Brunswick, around 20 miles from the town of Elizabeth, where a collection of bombs was found in a bag at the local station.

Authorities have been on alert since an explosive device went off in Chelsea, Manhattan on Saturday. New Jersey is New York's neighbouring state.

Earlier today the FBI issued a 'wanted' poster for Ahmad Khan Rahmi, wanted in connection with the Manhattan explosion. The authorities have si9nce published photos and details for several other men they want to question.

The explosion has sparked panic in New York. This morning a 'suspicious package' was discovered in the city's Union Square, which turned out to be a toolbox.
