New terror arrests: Naa’imur Zakariyah Rahman and Mohammed Aqib Imran both charged

Both suspects have been charged with preparing acts of terrorism, while Rahman has also been charged with assisting Imran

Two men arrested last week have been charged with terrorism offences.

Naa’imur Zakariyah Rahman, 20 and of north London, and Mohammed Aqib Imran, 21 and of south-east Birmingham, have both been charged and remanded in custody, Met Police said.

The pair will appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court tomorrow (Wednesday December 6).

Both man have been charged with "the intention of committing acts of terrorism engaged in conduct in preparation for giving effect to that intention", while Rahman has also been charged with attempting to assist Imran.

The men were arrested by officers from the Met’s Counter Terrorism Command on Tuesday November 28.
