A New Year's Day reveller is wanted for questioning by police after knocking over another man while sliding down an escalator.

Police say they want to speak to the man in the picture in connection with the incident, which took place at around 6am on January 1 at Tottenham Hale underground station.

A man was sliding down the escalator, a favourite stunt for drunk party-goers in the capital, and knocked over a 27-year-old man, who was standing on the escalator.

The victim sustained cuts to his head and various cuts and bruises to his hands and body, police say. He was taken to hospital for treatment and has since been discharged.

Officers would like to speak to the man shown in the image as he may have information which could help the investigation.

Anyone who recognises the man is asked to call BTP on 0800 40 50 40 or text 61016, quoting reference number 187-010118.
