Last night (July 3) a shooting took place in Toulouse, France, leaving one person dead and six injured, sources claim.

Two of the injured are in a serious condition, The Local reported.

Local media claimed that the attacker was on a scooter when he started firing at around 9pm local time.

An official has said: "No possibilities are ruled out, but there is at this stage no indication of any terrorist element."

A source has claimed the likely motive was revenge. But extra security has still been put in place in the area of La Reynerie.

Two shootings took place in the district last year, and both were believed to have been attempts to settle disputes, rather than terrorist attacks.

Last July an anonymous gunman on a scooter also shot a Russian man dead.
