Labour leadership candidate Owen Smith has revealed in an interview with Sky News that he will support Jeremy Corbyn from the backbenches if he wins the leadership election.
His comments come after ballot papers were sent out to Labour members today, with the result expected on 24th September.
Almost 650,000 people will have a vote in the election, after there was controversy over which members should be allowed to vote.
The total is now made up of 350,000 members, 129,000 who paid £25 to become registered supports and the final 168,000 are from unions and organisations.
Corbyn is widely expected to win the contest given his reported support among the thousands of new members who have joined in recent months/
