A Palestinian security officer was killed last night (March 19) during a raid on a refugee camp.
The raid at the Balata camp in Nablus was an attempt to arrest Ahmed al-Zabour, who is top of Ramallah's most wanted list, according to Alaraby.
According to Maan News Agency there was a clash between gunmen in the camp and Palestinian security forces, and it was during this time that the officer was shot in the head.
Two other officers were also injured during the incident, according to the governor of Nablus. Al-Zabour is now believed to be in a critical condition in hospital.
The Palestinian Authority has said raids are undertaken to improve stability in the area.
However analysts and locals think the real purpose of the forays is to crush opposition to President Mahmoud Abbas.
