Parents in Michigan have been warned that a fake school bus is being driven around in an attempt to pick up children.

Schools in the Van Buren district told parents that their children should not go near school buses which aren't marked with "Van Buren Public Schools" today (October 19)

The Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Office has said it is aware of a bus that is yellow, but unmarked, The Sacramento Bee reported.

Police told Fox2 that when a parent approached the fake bus, the driver quickly sped away.

The district also posted on Facebook about the matter and many parents seemed very concerned.

One said: "And they wonder why so many parents are now choosing to have their children stay home and do school online...at least there we stand a chance at protecting them."

Another commented: “This is horrible is this also part of this human trafficking? This makes u scared to even let ur kids out [sic].”
