The authorities continue to work on the scene at Parsons Green station in the wake of an explosion on Friday morning.

The District Line has been suspended between Wimbledon and Earl's Court as police and fire crews investigate the situation.

A white cannister of some kind is reported to have exploded at the station, leaving some with injuries. Witnesses described a stampede in the aftermath of the explosion.

The London Ambulance Service says 18 people have been taken to hospital in the wake of the incident. None of the incidents are thought to be serious or life-threatening.

Passengers on the tube are being escorted off the train and onto the tracks by emergency services, according to the BBC on Twitter

A video on the social network shows the authorities rushing to the station to deal with the situation.

Prime Minister Theresa May has been receiving regular updates.

The Guardian is reporting Scotland Yard has taken charge of the investigation, and the authorities have said it is being treated as a terror incident.
