A train has partially derailed in south west London during the Monday morning rush hour.

One person has been left with minor injuries after the incident, which is causing significant disruption to some services coming into the capital.

The authorities were called to the scene of a “low-speed partial derailment” of a South Western Railway service in the Wimbledon area near to East Putney.

The British Transport Police posted about the situation on Twitter, warning of disruption and advising commuters to check National Rail services before departing.

Currently, trains travelling between Wimbledon and London Waterloo are affected, with passengers advised to use their tickets on Transport for London buses.

The disruption is expected to continue throughout Monday.
