Police appeal: CCTV shows car collide with woman and dog

Thursday, August 6, 2020

West Midlands Police have launched an appeal to trace people involved in a roadside collision that injured a woman and killed a dog.

Shocking CCTV footage clearly shows a car mowing down the dog walker and her pet .

The woman survived the incident, which took place on Doe Bank Lane in Great Barr on Wednesday July 22, but her pet dog Millie died at the side of the road.

Police wish to track down the individuals who can be seen in the footage fleeing the scene following the crash, as well as the black Astra that stopped further down the road.

“We believe the two cars were travelling together and the people are probably friends with each other,” police said.

The force has asked anyone with information to contact them by calling 101 at any time or via Live Chat at www.west-midlands.police.uk from 8am to midnight.

People can also report information anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

Those with information are asked to quote log 3677 of 22 July.
