Detectives have released images of a man suspected of sexually assaulting nine women travelling on north and east London buses.

The suspect is accused of touching the women, aged between 23 and 62, between July 4 and September 25. The victims were largely in the 20s and were not injured in the assaults.

The incidents took place on a number of bus routes including the 38, 48, 279, 254, 149 and 253, most often between 7pm and 11pm.

Detective Constable Teresa Moore thanked the victims for coming forward and urged the public to make contact if they recognised the suspect.

“It is imperative women in London should be able to board public transport without fear of being targeted,” she said.

“Each incident has left the women targeted feeling very upset and shocked, and they are being supported by my team.”

She added: “We have carried out extensive enquiries to try and identify this man, and we are now asking the public to contact us if they recognise him.”

Anyone with information can call police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
