Police in Manchester have launched a fresh appeal to help find a gunman who is on the loose after breaching his parole conditions.

Dean Edgar, from Salford, was released on license - a way of integrating criminals back into the community - back in 2013. He is wanted on recall to prison and is thought to be actively evading arrest.

Edger, 40, was jailed in 2004 following a shooting the previous year in Newall Green, Wythenshawe. Police launched an initial to help find him in 2016 and have now made a fresh plea to the public.

Officers say Edgar knows he is wanted, adding that he has links to the South Manchester and Salford areas.

In their initial appeal, police said anyone who saw Edgar should not approach him instead inform the authorities.

Anyone with information about Edgar’s whereabouts is asked to contact police on 101 or the independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
