Monday, June 10, 2019

Police have released pictures of 14 men they want to speak to regarding disorder before a Crystal Palace v Brighton and Hove Albion match on March 9.

Detectives are appealing for assistance in identifying the individuals, following an incident involving a large group of Crystal Palace supporters around midday at Holmesdale Road.

The group of fans set off a number of fireworks, before surging towards officers who had arrested one of their members for a pyrotechnic-related offence.

During the confrontation, the arrested male managed to escape.

Police are appealing for information on the 14 men pictured

Inspector Matt Ashmead from the Met’s Central Football Unit, said the group had the "sole objective" of freeing the detained male by attacking officers.

“We have an experienced, dedicated team working hard to identify those involved in order to bring them, and the man originally arrested, to justice," he said.

"We have made a number of identifications already, but we are now appealing for the assistance of the public in identifying the remainder."

Anyone who recognises those pictured should call the police on 020 8246 0076 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
