An amber alert has been issued in Toronto after a family car was stolen from outside a family home - with a little girl inside.
The mother of four-year-old Christina Nyuyen had strapped the child into her seat, and then had gone back inside to collect a second child.
When she came back outside, the car had been stolen.
Toronto police posted an alert on Twitter to warn residents of what had happened:
As the thief hadn't given up the vehicle by 7:30am local time, the case was upgraded from theft to abduction.
Police have stated their view this wasn't deliberate, but a "crime of opportunity."
More information as it comes.
