A Porsche driver has been reported to police after he parked his car in front of a fire station entrance for more than 30 minutes.

Aston Fire Station staff in Birmingham asked drivers to be “considerate” after the sports car blocked an emergency response vehicle on Tuesday night.

When the unknown driver eventually returned he claimed it was due to a “wedding emergency”.

Aston Fire Station said: “No matter the emergency. Don’t block emergency service vehicles. Yours and others lives may depend on it.”

West Midlands Fire Service tweeted it had “heard some interesting excuses for blocking our emergency vehicles, but this is a new one”.

“Please always keep yellow boxes and exits of our stations clear, one day your life may depend on it.”

Fellow Twitter users suggested the fire station should have crushed, impounded or cut open the car to practice rescues.
