The Duchess of Cambridge was forced to miss Prince George's first day at school as she struggles with severe morning sickness.
The young prince was brought by his father Prince William to Thomas's Battersea, an independent school in south London.
His mother's pregnancy was announced by Kensington Palace, which also revealed the Duchess was suffering from hyperemesis gravidarum, the same severe morning sickness which blighted her last two pregnancies.
With his mother unwell, four-year-old George was met by Helen Haslam, who is the head of the lower school, who shook his hand and brought him into his reception.
A video of the young prince arriving was posted on Twitter.
Kensington Palace has said he will be known as George Cambridge in school, and the young prince is believed to be among the youngest in his year.
