Property expert says he'll run down Oxford street naked if Jeremy Corbyn builds new social housing

Jeremy Corbyn is set to pledge 500,000 new homes

Property expert and presenter Luke Doonan has claimed he'll run down Oxford Street naked if Labour build 500,000 new homes, and he'll even do a naked half-marathon.

Corbyn is expected to use a visit to Harlow, Essex to attack the Tories housing record and pledge half a million new homes, half of which would be council-owned.

Doonan, who is currently making a film about the regeneration about urban Britain, told Julia Hartley-Brewer "everytime we see an election we get whatever party is in power promising to build these homes, it’s just not going to happen."

He added that there is simply too much greed in the system for such lofty house-building targets to be met, and the social housing issue will only be sorted out when someone with "a real, proper backbone" steps in.

Doonan added that foreigners should be charged more for buying in the UK so we get good revenue, or they should be stopped from buying here altogether, to give first-time buyers a chance.
