Syrian rebels have begun an ordered evacuation of Damascus under the terms of a new deal brokered with government forces.
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said buses had arrived at dawn, and fighters and family members in the district of Barzeh had begun to board them.
The district had been the focal point of heavy fighting between government forces under Bashar al-Assad and rebels over the last few months.
Syrian state TV reports the buses will be headed to the northwest province of Idlib, which is held by rebels and was subjected to chemical attacks last month.
The evacuation is scheduled to take place over the next week.
