Legendary reggae DJ David Rodigan joined Sam Delaney to reveal more about starting out in the industry, meeting Bob Marley and his new book.
Rodigan told Sam Delaney that "in the early years" of being a radio presenter, when people came to see him they would think they'd got the wrong room - because he isn't black.
He also spoke about meeting Bob Marley, and how the singer took him into a room and played him a new song. After this Marley agreed to take part in an interview on his show.
The presenter said: “I was so in awe of him, I was very nervous. At the end of [the interview] he said 'here’s the world exclusive'," and played the song on air."
The broadcaster also revealed that it was Ian Burrell and Damian Marley who convinced him to write the book My Life in Reggae.
"He [Damian Marley] said 'where’s the book, you need to write a book. You knew my father - you’ve been in this business, you’ve been in this music for almost 40 years, you need to write a book'."
