A robber is to be sentenced at the Old Bailey after being caught on CCTV snatching more than £20,000 of gold rings and earrings from a north London jewellery store.
Andrew Elliott, 32, was filmed ransacking the Ital Gold store in Haringey along with two accomplices on April 15 last year.
Shop assistant Valentina Ivanova, 31, was alone when the trio struck – she suffered a head injury after being put into a headlock and dragged to the ground.
Ms Ivanova managed to break free, press the panic button and lock herself into the staff toilet while the robbers grabbed jewellery and attempted to flee.
Prosecutor Tayo Hassan said the defendant and a second robber “panicked” when they found themselves briefly locked in by the security door.
She said: “Eventually the defendant and suspect three kicked in the door to try to escape but suspect one managed to open the door.”

The door locked behind the pair as they ran out, leaving the suspect three trapped.
He banged on the door until a member of the public, who knew nothing of what had happened, let him out.
The court heard that the thieves made off £20,000 worth of gold jewellery and caused £5,000 of damage.
Afterwards, Ms Ivanova said she felt “scared and shocked” and more nervous of dealing with customers.
Elliott, from Luton, was arrested on November 27 2018 and pleaded guilty to the robbery earlier this year.
In mitigation, Jide Lanlehin argued that Elliott had not engaged in any of the violence and was focused only on grabbing the jewellery and getting out.
Judge Mark Dennis QC adjourned sentencing until tomorrow afternoon for more information about the defendant's background.
Police have renewed their appeal to the public for help to identify the two other suspects.
