Royal commentator warns Meghan Markle 'the media will try to dig up everything about you'

Prince Harry is engaged to Meghan Markle

A Royal commentator has warned that the media will now attempt to dig up everything it can about future Princess Meghan Markle.

Clarence House has announced that Prince Harry is now engaged to American actress Markle, and the wedding should take place in spring next year.

Royal commentator Rupert Bell told Sam Delaney the press "will now be trying to dig up every little bit of something on Meghan."

However he thinks "Theresa May is probably delighted" about the engagement because "Brexit can be on the backburner as far as the papers are concerned, because they will now go Meghan crazy."

Bell believes that the wedding shows "changing times. A: she’s a divorcee and B: she’s a Roman Catholic." but to those who think it's inappropriate he said "get a life."

The commentator also said due to the age of the couple "there may be the patter of tiny feet reasonably soon."

He added: "I think Royal Weddings are always good, they do have a habit of coming along to lift us out of doom and gloom."
