The economic power wielded by Russian emigres, specifically the wealth which has allowed them to carve up Kensington, Mayfair and other fashionable districts of the capital, has long been a bone of contention. Jeremy Corbyn and Labour have long viewed these plutocratic arrivistes with naked hostility, and even before the Skripal scandal broke, there was talk of subjecting the oligarchs to greater scrutiny.
