TalkRADIO’s Saira Khan has been revealed as a contestant on Dancing on Ice 2019 show.
Saira Khan told talkRADIO’s Eamonn Holmes: “I have this feeling in my stomach.
“I don’t know whether it is nerves, if it is excitement, or if it is just wind.
“I will tell you now, I have never ice skated in my life.”
Other 2019 contestants include Gemma Collins from The Only Way is Essex, former Westlife star Brian McFadden, and former Strictly star James Jordan.
The Only Way is Essex star Gemma Collins has also been announced as a Dancing on Ice contestant
‘They have shamed me into it’
When asked why she had signed up now, Saira Khan said she had been “shamed” into it.
She said: “I turned them down three or four times saying ‘no, I am not doing it because I don’t want to injury myself, I’m too old, I need to spend time with my kids’.
“My kids heard me say it and I said ‘I’m too old’ and Zach said ‘just listen to yourself mum, if I had come to you and said ‘I can’t do my homework because I have got a headache’ - what would you say to me?’
“So they have shamed me into it.”
‘the middle of the M1’
Former Dancing on Ice contestant and former member of Bucks Fizz Cheryl Baker phoned into the show to give Saira Khan a little advice.
She said: “It is about as safe as standing in the middle of the M1.”
Former Dancing on Ice contestant and singer Suzanne Shaw was also on the show.
She said: “Feel the fear and do it anyway.
“That is exactly what you have to do because once that music goes on, no matter how much practicing you are doing, that wind in your stomach only grows.
“You have got to embrace it and own it.”
The new series kicks off on ITV in January with eight more celebrities still to be announced.
