One pupil has been arrested and a second is on the run after today's school shooting in France.
The incident took place at the Alexis de Tocqueville high school in Grasse, near the city of Cannes on the French Riviera.
In addition to the gunman, initial reports claimed there were two more people allegedly involved.
Reports suggest several people have been injured. The headmaster of the school is said to be one of them.
The French authorities have released an emergency alert and other schools around Grasse have gone into lockdown.
French TV channel BFMTV reports anti-terrorist commandos were operating on the scene.
The town hall has said the incident is not terror-related, but the official police confirmation is yet to come.
