The New York Police Department has confirmed that Shia LaBeouf has been arrested after allegedly attacking a man.

The actor, who starred in the Transformers series and was a child actor for Disney's Even Stevens, had organised his He Will Not Divide Us protest, which was live-streamed for 24 hours and is intended to do so for the duration of Trump's presidency.

Us Weekly was told by the NYPD there had reportedly been a scuffle with a 25-year-old man outside the Museum of the Moving Image in Queens, one of the boroughs of New York City, which left the man with minor injuries.

The actor was said to have been arrested around 12:30am local time and charged with misdemeanor assualt, which he will appear in court for at a later date.

The actor has been known for his outspoken opinions and strong statements - he wore a bag on his head to a film festival, which had 'I AM NOT FAMOUS ANYMORE' scrawled across it.

LaBeouf also has had a string of legal troubles over the last few years. He was charged with disorderly conduct and criminal trespass after refusing to leave the Studio 54 people despite apparently "acting disorderly [sic]".
