An ambulance was called to Westminster after an MP fainted in the House of Commons during Prime Minister's Questions.

Natalie McGarry, who previously represented the SNP and now stands as an independent, was taken unwell in the adjoining tea room.

After receiving medical attention, the Glasgow East MP used Twitter to explain what had happened:

McGarry, formerly a representative for the Scottish National Party, caused a stir when she turned up to the House of Commons in her wedding dress last year for a vote.
